Alphonsus Nweze, Onitsha
The Chairmanship of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Anambra State chapter, Venerable Joseph Nweke, has put the insecurity and bloodletting in Nigeria at the door step of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
Ven. Nweke who is also the Archdeacon of Onitsha Inland Town Archdeaconry in the Diocese on the Niger, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, said if any person accused the president of being behind the insecurity, he would not hesitate to agree because the president has not shown enough sincerity in confronting insecurity in the land.
He said the Senate of the Federal Republic of NIgeria had at a time asked the President to take responsibility for the killings in the country but he has refused.
“Up till now, President Buhari is still blaming former President, Goodluck Jonathan, for the insecurity and bad economy in the country,” said Nweke.
Continuing, “I am afraid. I don’t know how these politicians sleep at night. How do they sleep at night.I am surprised, we don’t hear about Lai Muhammed again. Let him come and lie to us because we know him for lying for Buhari, a government of deceit, a government of inaction, a government of corruption.”
The senior clergy in the Diocese on the Niger lamented that looking at our Accountant General, the person we entrusted our money, our commonwealth into his hands, a trained accountant stole our money, our N80b. “That is how Buhari is keeping our money.”
He said that those who stole under Jonathan, on going to Buhari, would be pardoned. He asked that Buhari said he was going to give us change, “is this the change he has given us?” He queried.
The cleric said Buhari’s regime has not faired well in the area of economy as the economy of the country is in camatose.
“What of our security, it is in ruins. Look at Anambra State, the safest growing state in the country. They have polluted it with these Fulani killers and nobody is arresting them but they are arresting Igbo youths here and there, putting them in cells and killing them,” he wondered.
He is of the opinion that there is a deliberate attempt to conquer every part of NIgeria by the Fulanis who want to dominate the country. He alleged that they caused the bombing in Owo, Ondo State and the flooding of Herdsmen, Okada riders, nail cutters, and the rest in the South East but he assured that they would fail.
