Firman Generator Chairman murdered for mere 900 Million, Land Documents

The Fireman Generators’ Chairman, Chief Hyginus Odunukwe who was reported missing since December 1, 2019 was later found dead, his decomposed body stuff inside a sack that was dumped in a canal at Ogombo forest along Abraham Adesanya estate axis, off Lekki-Epe expressway, Ajah.


The Orukwu, Anambra state born billionaire was killed and cut into pieces by his assailants who are currently in police net where they are providing relevant information.
Prime Pointers gathered that some criminals led by Bob Ibeaji who pretended to be property buyers called him on phone and indicated interest on a property he put up for sale.


However, the assassins in disguise negotiated and agreed on a price for the purchase with him, of which his lawyer even drafted the relevant documents.
Both parties later agreed to meet on an agreed date to complete the transaction.
On the D-day, Odunukwe’s lawyers suggested going with him for the signing but Odunukwe declined and told him that he needed to see someone at Ikoyi club before proceeding to the transaction venue and that was the last time they saw him.

Ibeaji further revealed how he conspired with three others: Arinze Igwe, 26; Solomon Cletus 30 and Israel Obigaremu, 35, to snuff life out of Odunukwe at Artican Beach Resort, in Ajah area of Lagos, on December 1, 2019.
Ibeaji who claimed to have studied Medicine and Surgery in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, disclosed that the deceased was first hit with an axe on the head, injected with an excess dose of a lethal Injection that weakened him before he was strangled.


The deceased, who was mainly into importation of generators as his core business also has other interests in estate development and Gold mining. It was on these premises that he was approached by the prime suspect in respect of one of his buildings in Abuja which he displayed for sale.


Late Odunukwe, left his Ikoyi, Lagos abode on December 1, 2019, having informed his family that he was going to meet the supposed buyer but he never returned home.
When the billionaire didn’t return, alarm was raised and his family reported the incident to the police and investigations and search commenced. In the process, the kingpin of the criminal gang was arrested. On searching his house, already signed original land documents said to belong to Odunukwe was found.


On further interrogation, the man claimed that he already finalized the deal and paid the billionaire before the incidence happened but when the police asked him to provide the bank account where payment was made, he claimed that he paid with gold.
This made the police to sniff some inconsistencies. He was tortured and remanded in prison custody. This particular action led to a break through in the case as the man later co-operated and provided the police with key information that led to the arrested of his gang.


On further enquiry and investigation, they confessed how they picked up the billionaire and forced him to sign the documents in their custody, after which he was killed.

His body which was cut into pieces was recovered by operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad, ZIS of the Zone 2 Command, in a canal in Ogombo forest along Ajah road, while his 4- Runner SUV was tracked to Artican beach and Resort.


Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, AIG Illiyasu visited the site where the body was found, accompanied by journalists.
Mr Illiyasu said Odunukwe was brutally murdered by a syndicate who trailed him via his Facebook page.
“Their despicable conduct connotes a high level of wickedness, hinged on abysmal loss of moral values,” he said.


Up till press time, it is yet to be ascertained whether the assassins worked alone or in cohort with some others who are still at large.

The kingpin, Ibeaji confessed that it was lust for money and material gains that led him to the crime that caused the assassination of Odunukwe.
