Awogu wins Ogbaru House of Rep ticket

Honourable Arinze Awogu, former Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area has won the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary for Ogbaru Federal Constituency.

Arinze who is making his second attempt to represent the Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber won the Primary with 34 votes as against his opponent, Onyedika Chris Nwokedi’s 14 votes.

The Returning Officer for the primary, Hon. Tony Omeliigwe Elee, said Awogu won the primary with 34 votes and therefore has been returned as the Party’s candidate for the Federal Constituency election.
Shortly, before the commencement of the primary election, some thugs believed to be working for Arinze’s only opponent wanted to disrupt the election but the security operatives made up of NIgerian Navy and the Police calmed the situation as the hoodlums were chased out of the venue.

This paved way for the accreditation of the 48 delegates who participated in the primary.
