The General Overseer of Bible Base and Miracle Assembly Church, Rev. Jerry Nwachukwu, has said the Labour Party candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will emerge victorious in 2023 if the youths translate their social media campaign into action.
Rev. Nwachukwu who spoke in an exclusive interview said his problem in the Obi project is that most of these youths are not sincere, focused and are talking because of what they want to gain.
“I see these youths as bunch of people agitating without action. Ninety percent of them don’t have Permanent Voters Card (PVC). Many of them would also be bought over on the voting day. Some of them are just talking because of what they want to get. Some want attention whike others are not talking because they want to make impact or effect a change.”
Continuing, “some of the youths are talking from the angle of need or hunger. Some are expressing their anger against the prevailing situation but they are not all that focused.They go where their bread can be buttered. That is the challenge Peter will face.”
He noted that if the youths can be sincere and back their words with action, Peter Obi will surprise everybody in this election.
Nwachukwu said that he is not expecting much from christian community in Nigeria because “they are very vulnerable, weak and fearful but you know INEC doesn’t count prayer points but votes.”
If christians, he said, want to show that what they experienced in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari was not palatable, they should show it by obtaining their PVC, come out to vote and protect their votes.
He called on security agencies to forestal what happened in Lagos recently where some hoodlums went to stop Igbos from registering because they saw them as a threat.
Rev. Nwachukwu said that Ndigbo should now wake up because they have the population but apathy has been their major problem.
“If we come out to vote a candidate, we can make an impact even if we do not win the election. We can make impact and use it for negotiation. Christians too should back their prayers with action. Prayers are good but we should be Gideon generation, PVC in one hand, prayer in the other hand,” he ended.
