New Onitsha Rotary Club Promises to Serve Humanity

The new president of Rotary Club of Onitsha Royal, Anambra State, Rotarian Flora Chinyere Mbaeli, has promised to serve humanity during her tenure.
In her speech immediately after her enthronement, said she would focus her attention towards the indigents and less privileged in the society.

Rotn Mbaeli, a business Mogul who is the 4th President of the club expressed her gratitude to God for giving her the opportunity to serve and promised to work in tandem with the four-way test ideology of the club.

“I will not fail all those that reposed their confidence in me. My mission in this rotary year is to drive the club to enviable heights.
My year will be fun filled as I intend to serve humanity focusing on the indigent and less privileged in our focal area,” she said.

Earlier, the former President of the club, Rtn Nkiru Okeke, while handing over the insignia of leadership of the club to Rtn Mbaeli, charged her to advance the goals of Rotary Club of Onitsha Royal beyond expectations.

She said: “The journey so far under my watch has been successful. We were able to carry out a few projects that fetched Onitsha Royal a presidential citation and district award. I want to also use this opportunity to wish the new president a successful tenure.”

Receiving an award for his selfless service to humanity at the event, Rtn JohnBosco Onunkwo, a former Anambra governorship aspirant said he was elated with the impact and progress of the club in its area of jurisdiction.

“I am happy to be here to identify with Rotary Club Onitsha Royal and other Rotary clubs in the district that are doing well and I encourage them to keep imbibing the spirit of giving and avoiding evil. That is what the four-way test is all about; selfless service to humanity and that is why we need more Rotarians in government because it’s all about giving which makes Rotary the best service oriented club in the world.”

The event which was a combination of an award ceremony and investiture of the new president also featured induction of seven new members.
There were also Hepatitis awareness/ medical checkup and donation of two wheel chairs to the physically challenged in the district.

Among the awardees were; Hon Chiedu Obidigwe (MFR), representing Anambra East/West Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Tony Collins Nwabuwanne, Hon Commissioner for local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Anambra state, Ven. (Dr) Ogbonnaya Ibe Enwo, Rector Federal Polytechnic Uwana, Afikpo, Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Nnatu, Hon Remmy Nnakaife, Lady Anderlin Chukwudebelu and Lady Oby Ezenwankwo JP, among others.
