No fewer than 14 gospel artistes have stormed Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial hub for the annual unusual praise concert.
Briefing newsmen yesterday at SOPRUM hotel, 33 Onitsha, the head of the Organising Committee of the event, Mrs.Agustina Igbokwe, said the event starts this evening by 5pm at Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, till dawn.
She said that the concert with adequate security which has been provided would be rounded off with a holy mass celebration.
One of the artistes, James Arum, stressed the importance of praise, urged Nigerians to praise God because through its instrumentality, God would give Nigeria a man after his heart in next year’s presidential election.
He said people should not blame God for the problems of the country or their own plights but adopt the attitude of praising God all the time.
“A praise minister or worship minister cannot see his back on the ground. Praise has no language. This Unusual Praise is not normal. God will do things unusually. When we praise, he will give us a man after his heart in 2023.
Others who spoke include Msgr Pascal Nwaezeakpu and Chike Oruche, who explained that the programme started 10 years ago as a parish concert but has grown to become an international event.
