Anambra Traders Eulogise Governor Soludo for removing Ngonadi from overseeing markets

• Implore those with Court cases against State Government to withdraw them

The traders of Anambra State have lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for having listening ears to their cries.

The traders also commended the Governor for taking over the Ministry of Trade and Commerce from the hands of Dr. Obinna Ngonadi who is now the Commissioner for Industry and no longer oversee the Ministry for Trade and Commerce.

Speaking on behalf of the traders on Friday, Chief Ben Uzuegbu (SAN), counsel to Ndubuisi Ochiogu, who instituted a case at Ogbaru High Court against his removal as the elected Chairman of Ogbaru Main Market without the completion of his tenure in office said that Governor Soludo has demonstrated that he has Hus read on ground through his action of removing anything that has to do with Trade and Commerce from the hands of Dr. Obinna Ngonadi.

He said that he has filed a notice of discontinuance of the case between his client and Dr. Obinna Ngonadi in Court because they are happy with the Governor’s action.

Chief Uzuegbu also said that he is optimistic that since the Governor has started addressing the numerous troubles created in Anambra markets by Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, he will complete what he has started.

On his own part, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, the President General of Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders (ASMATAS), an umbrella body of all the markets in Anambra State praised Governor Soludo for doing the needful to nip in the bud Dr. Obinna Ngonadi’s atrocities in Anambra markets.

He instructed all those that instituted Court cases against the Governent to withdraw them because they have nothing against the Governor but Dr Obinna Ngonadi.

The PG of ASMATA also said that after the removal of Dr. Obinna Ngonadi from Anambra State Ministry of Trade and Commerce who fraudulently extended the tenure of some Caretaker Committees in Anambra State markets, Ekwegbalu pleaded with the Governor to do something about it.

He pledged the continuous support and loyalty of Anambra traders to Governor Soludo’s administration.
Incidentally, the matters could not hold last Friday November 11, 2022, because of the absence of the Judge, Justice Alexius Okuma, has adjourned to November 30, 2022, for the withdrawal of the matter
