Bandits documentary: CDD knocks NBC over award of fines against Trust TV, others

The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) has condemned the imposition of the N5 million fine slammed on Trust Television and other media organisations by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for airing documentaries that exposed terrorists and their activities. Trust TV is owned by Media Trust Group, a multimedia company that also publishes Daily Trust newspapers and other titles. Twitter ban: Court dismisses suit against FG, awards N100, 000 fine against SERAP

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, dismissed a suit filed against the Federal Government for directing television and radio stations to delete their Twitter accounts. Justice Obiora Egwuatu, in a judgment, dismissed the suit for lacking in merit and awarded the sum of N100, 000 against the plaintiff.
